"Twinsburg represents community baseball at it's best. Their teams are consistently strong fundamentally and more importantly they play the game the right way; with respect." ~ Cleveland Indians President Mark Shapiro

We've got teams of families playing together. Neighbors and friends forming teams. People from out of town coming into Twinsburg for the weekend to play. Remember, the age of your oldest player determines your age division. And teams only need three people, but can have four (only three play in the field, all players bat).
A game we all love and all played as kids or still play today. The tournament open to all ages. Cheap entry fee supporting great causes! A huge party the Wednesday before the event to draw the brackets with kids and adults of all ages welcome. All culminating in an amazing event that will have Liberty Park loaded with players, spectators, and vendors on the Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend!
Spread the word. And get your team entered.
FALL BALL registration is NOW OPEN for Twinsburg residents and spring season Twinsburg rec/travel baseball players! CLICK HERE to get your child registered. Registration will open to residents of other communities on July 24th.
The tryouts for Twinsburg's 2015 travel baseball teams will take place on Sunday, August 17th and Sunday, August 24th at Liberty Park. Twinsburg will field travel baseball teams in seven different age divisions in 2015: 8U kid pitch, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, and 14U. More specific times on the tryouts for each age division will follow in the coming weeks.
Your child's age on April 30, 2015 determines which team(s) they are eligible to try out for. Much more information on the travel tryout process and travel baseball in general can be found by clicking here, and as always, feel free to email us with any questions at email@example.com.
Applications to coach one of these travel baseball teams must be completed and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by midnight on August 3rd.
Congratulations to our 8U Coach Pitch rec tournament team, who finished off their tournament season with another win out at the Cuyahoga Falls Coach Pitch Championship the weekend of July 19th and 20th, defeating Aurora 15-14 in the championship game! Aurora jumped out to an early lead and led 13-8 going into the fifth inning. Our Tigers defense answered the call, holding Aurora scoreless over the last two innings, giving the Tiger bats a chance in the bottom of the sixth. Ryan Hojdar started the rally with a leadoff double, followed by a Major Grant single, and a Lleyton Torok triple ... and culminating in them tying the game forcing a "Texas Shootout" in extra innings to decide the title. With the Tigers trailing by one in the bottom of the seventh inning, Alex Keefe and Ben Bryan led the inning off with back to back singles. And with the bases loaded, Kris Kimmel came to the plate and doubled home the winning runs, scoring Jaden Dye and Alex Keefe. Our 8U Tigers scored 61 runs in four games, allowing just 17 against them. And the team finished their tournament season with 10 wins, 5 losses, and TWO TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! Nice work boys!!!
Congrads to the Twinsburg 9U rec tournament team, which finished an incredible summer tournament season by going to the championship game of the Victory Park Last Chance Baseball Tournament out in North Ridgeville the weekend of July 19th and 20th! Despite competing against almost exclusively travel and club baseball teams this summer, this group of mostly eight year old rec league stars finished in 3rd, 3rd, and 2nd place in the three tournaments they entered, and finished with a 9-6 overall record in the tournament games and scrimmages they played in this summer.
While other cities neglect their rec leagues in favor of everything travel baseball, Twinsburg remains adamant about maintaining a strong rec program, and these rec tournament teams are a big part of that commitment. And as we saw this year in several age divisions, our rec all-star teams can beat other cities travel baseball teams.
CONGRADS to the Twinsburg 10U travel baseball team, who capped off a magical playoff run this past week with a victory over Aurora in the championship of the Buckeye Travel Baseball League!!!

We're starting to get a lot of questions about Fall Ball, which has grown like crazy here in Twinsburg these last few years. We had over 300 parents express interest last year, and we will have additional field capacity this fall. This is the area's premier fall baseball league, and it's not surprising we continue to draw more and more kids from other communities into Twinsburg each fall to play in our league.
Here's the most important information you need to know ...
~ Registration opens on July 14th for Twinsburg residents and kids who played in TBL this spring/summer. There will be a ten day registration window for those kids to ensure no Twinsburg residents or TBL rec players get shut out.
~ Registration will open on July 24th for residents of other communities and we welcome and heavily encourage kids from other communities to participate in Twinsburg's Fall Ball league. The July 14-24 window for Twinsburg residents is just to ensure all have an opportunity, and we anticipate having ample space for residents of other communities when registration opens for everyone on July 24th.
~ We have additional field capacity this year and we plan on fielding 24 total teams in the following four age divisions: Coach Pitch (6-7 years old), Juniors (8-9 years old), Minors (10-11 years old), and Majors (12-14 years old). This is the first year we've added a Majors division, which we are excited about. Your child's age as of August 31, 2014 should generally determine their age division. Note that the Juniors age division will use a 46" mound and 65" bases, Minors will use 50" and 70", and Majors will use 54" and 80".
~ No entire team entries are allowed, registration is individual to allow us to make the teams as fair as possible. The registration form will include information this year about what team kids played on in the spring/summer to ensure travel players are evenly disbursed in the hopes of creating parity, fair teams, and exciting competitive games.
~ We get that kids may miss some practices/games due to other obligations or participation in other fall sports, and would still definitely encourage those kids to register and participate. To accommodate, rosters are set a little larger (13 kids) than a normal rec league roster.
~ Games will not just be on Sunday mornings this year. In addition to Sunday mornings (10-12 AM), Saturday evenings (4-8 PM) and Sunday evenings (6-8) will be utilized. We are in communication with Twinsburg football and soccer, and we will schedule Fall Ball game times around their game schedules. We have ample weekend field availability to be flexible with game times on Saturday nights and any times on Sunday, when all fields are generally available all day. Teams are likely to be scheduled eight regular season games over the first seven weeks (Aug 23 - Oct 5) and the final week/weekend will be a playoff tournament in each age division. The season will conclude by Sunday, October 12th.
~ Teams will be scheduled one practice per week, during a weeknight (Mon-Fri) from 6-8 PM. Practices will start around August 11th and games will begin around August 23rd.
~ No big barrel bats will be allowed. Fall Ball is FUN, and we want to continue to introduce new wrinkles. But the primary focus is to help these kids develop, and to get them ready for the age division they will be playing in next year. Each age division will use the rec league rules for that age division, which can be found on the "rec baseball" link in the menu bar.
~ Questions? Email us at email@example.com.
CONGRADS to our 2014 rec league champions, who are listed below!!! TBL's rec program is as competitive and well organized as any program in NE Ohio, and we at TBL are very committed to making sure that remains the case.

We are always looking for new TBL board members. TBL is an all volunteer, non city affiliated entity that manages the many different aspects that go along with providing a positive youth baseball experience for over 600 children each year. Our board is a great group of people that meets roughly once a month, and we would like to add a few new good people to the board this spring and summer. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or potential interest.
Twinsburg Baseball was selected by Cleveland Indians Charities to receive $5,000 as part of their Baseball Diamond Improvement Grant Program!!!! The funds will be used to finish covering all the dugouts at Liberty Park and for backstop repairs. Many thanks to the Tribe for donating to TBL!!!!
Have some old baseball bats that your kids will never use again taking up space in the garage? Make a difference and donate them to TBL! Donated bats help keep TBL equipment costs down, which helps keep registration costs low for parents, and it also allows the league to allocate more money towards upkeep of the fields, trophies, and uniforms. Email us at email@example.com if you have a bat or two to donate to the league. We're going to be organizing a drop off day this fall.
MANY thanks to each of the 50 travel baseball teams that came out to Twinsburg for the 2013 Stars & Stripes Twinsburg Travel Baseball Tournament last year. The weather cooperated for us and the baseball was fantastic, with many of the finest baseball players ages 14 and under in northern Ohio out in our fine city in mid July.
Below are the final results of this this year's tournament in all six age divisions.
9U - The Strongsville Stallions defeated Strikeforce 8-6 in the championship game. Click here for the final tournament bracket and results.

A reminder to all of our players, coaches, and parents:
1. These are kids
2. This is a game
3. Our coaches volunteer
4. The umpires are human
5. This is not professional baseball
TBL was lucky enough to recently have an anonymous donor give $1,000 to the league! As with all donations, the monies will be put towards improving the fields and the experiences for the children that take part in our excellent rec baseball league.
TBL mandates that our volunteer head coaches take an online training course to become registered members of the National Youth Sports Coaching Association and also that they take an online concussion training course. Both courses are also highly recommended for our assistant coaches and any other parents that help out with their children's teams.
Support Twinsburg Baseball partner Dicks Sporting Goods, who helps with team sponsorship costs, equipment, and discounts for our parents and players on their equipment purchases each season!!!
